Long before strategy sessions and diagnostics, Michael was a nationally recognized stand-up comedian, performing at the highest levels of the industry. On stage, failure is immediate and public. You learn fast how to read people, control chaos, adapt under pressure, and make decisions in real time—or you don’t last.

That pressure forged how he thinks.

But comedy was only part of the story.

Michael is also an award-winning chef and restaurateur, inducted into the Great Chefs of Los Angeles in 2003—a distinction earned by execution, consistency, and excellence in one of the most competitive culinary markets in the world.

His business career began the hard way—out of a one-bedroom apartment—when he launched Cannoli Kings Catering. What started as a small operation scaled into the number-one ranked catering company in Los Angeles, trusted at the highest level and becoming the only catering company ever allowed on Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.

From there, the trajectory didn’t slow down.

Michael went on to operate Tangerine, one of the hottest restaurants in West Hollywood, California, where A-list celebrities didn’t just dine—they called it home. In one of the toughest restaurant markets in the world, Tangerine didn’t survive—it dominated.

Later, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Michael launched Parise’s New American Bistro, introducing the first true farm-to-table fine dining concept in Western North Carolina—long before it became a trend—and building it into the number-one fine dining restaurant in WNC.

These weren’t lucky breaks.
They were built—intentionally.

Across hospitality, catering, retail, food & beverage, and service-based businesses, Michael handled everything: branding, marketing, staffing, pricing, systems, vendor negotiations, crisis management, and growth strategy. He lived inside the decisions—and paid for the bad ones.

That’s where the real education came from.

He learned exactly what happens when growth outpaces infrastructure. When marketing runs without strategy. When owners confuse being busy with being profitable. When emotion replaces clarity—and the business starts running the owner instead of the other way around.
